What can I do on the free Crowd tier?

As a free member of Photocrowd, there is a lot you can do. And you can do it in a space that is free of advertising, and respects your data.

Upload up to 1,000 high res images

You can make Photocrowd the online home for a large volume of your best images. Those images will be seen by a global community of fellow photographers. And they’ll be loved, reposted, and commented on.

You can create a profile, follow other users, and love and comment on their images. Community engagement is mutual - put yourself and your images out there and you’ll be noticed.

You can also explore a vast site where you’ll find a deep archive of high-quality images across every subject you can imagine, and which will give you inspiration for what to shoot next.

The limitations of the free Crowd tier

The main limitation on the Crowd tier is that you won't be able to enter any photo contests except the New Joiners contests until you get some credits.

You get credits when you upgrade to a Challenger, Pro or Master subscription or by buying a credit pack, and you can find out more details about those [here].

There are a few other things that you can't do on the Crowd tier:

  • Sending direct messages

Sending a direct message to another Photocrowd member is not available to Crowd tier members. As a Crowd member you can still follow other members, love their images and write comments on their images.

  • Creating Community Contests

Creating a contest which other members of the community can enter, and that you can even judge if you want to, is something which provides a lot of entertainment and value for those who have a go at it. It's also a great contribution to the community.

  • Flagging images as Not on Brief

If an image is entered into a contest for which it is not relevant (eg an image of a car being entered into a contest for motorcycles) then paid subscribers on the Challenger, Pro and Master tiers have the opportunity to flag that image as being Not on Brief. If a few members do the same for that image it will be automatically removed from the contest. This facility is only available to Crowd tier members during the rating phase of a contest, not during the open phase.

  • Uploading more than 1,000 images

Once you hit 1,000 images, you will be unable to enter more images unless you delete some of the existing images that you have uploaded.
