What are the different types of contests?
There are three broad categories of contests to enter on Photocrowd:
1. Photography Awards: This is the place to get your work showcased in some of the most prestigious photo awards and win some amazing prizes along the way.
2. Premium Contests: These contests are almost all judged by a top photography professional, who will grade your work and write image reviews for a selection of the entries. They offer the highest number of ranking points (RP) that contribute to your Leaderboard placing.
Within the premium contests, you'll also find the following more niche contests:
- New Joiners contests: these are open to new users of Photocrowd within the first 28 days since they joined. They close when they reach 100 entries and are a great chance to experience the fun of having your image judged by a photography professional and by the community.
- Ranked contests: these are an opportunity to compete against other photographers that are similarly ranked to you on the leaderboard. Three contests, all with the exact same brief, are split between those ranked 1-250, 251-1000, and 1001+.
- Portfolio contests: These are an opportunity to have a body of between four and six images judged as a whole.
3. Community Contests: These are contests created by the community. They cover a myriad different subjects, and a proportion of them will also be judged by the community members that created them.
Each contest has either a Crowd Vote, a Community or Expert Judge, or both. Once the submissions period has closed, the rating begins and the crowd and/or judges start to choose the winner(s).
